This Lens is "the Bomb!" I never want to put it down! This has quickly become my favorite all-purpose lens. I don't think I've taken it off my camera since I've gotten it (except for cleaning purposes). Highly reccommended.
You get end to end sharpness in this lens, a fast lens also at f/2.8, Possibly one of the best quality mid-range zooms available today with great IQ and good range from wide to light tele. This one allows both group shots and single portraits (and everything in between) in one package. At 70mm its as sharp it gets even wide open and produces pleasing bokeh. I can say that this is a good walkaround lens. You might think that the range is somewhat insufficient but it still ok at a cropped body this goes to 100mm++ already. As what one of the famous photogrpahers say "this is the defacto lens for fashion photographers who use canon!"

this lens replaced my canon ef 24-105 f/4 L IS lens and i never looked back eversince. with full DSLR, there shouldn't be any reason why this lens should be mounted out. i personally think that the best upgrade canon can do with this lens is to combine both 16-35mm and 24-70mm into one lens and place an image stabilizing technology on it.
